Simulating local fields in carbon nanotube-reinforced composites for infinite strip with voids

Abstract A numerical simulation of the thermal properties is conducted for an isotropic and homogeneous infinite strip composite reinforced by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) containing voids. The CNTs can be uniformly or randomly distributed but are non-overlapping. We model as thin perfectly conducting elliptic inclusions assume voids to circular shape act barriers heat flow. also impose isothermal conditions on external boundaries assuming lower wall a heater under given temperature, upper cooler that held at fixed temperature. mathematical model, which takes form mixed Dirichlet–Neumann problem, solved applying boundary integral equation with generalized Neumann kernel. illustrate performance proposed method through several examples including case presence large number
